Hi my name is Max Wiczek, founder and owner of Ridgeline Fence and Deck. Five years ago I started Ridgeline with the simple idea that fences need to be built better.
We have grown our team without sacrificing quality or customer service. What warranties do your fences come with?No matter the style, every fence we install has a lifetime warranty on the post installation. This covers any and all post movement, heaving, warping, cracking, and rotting. Everything your typical concreted in post is guaranteed to do and more. We also have a 5 year craftsmanship warranty that covers gate adjustment, panel adjustments, and anything else that may arise.

What type of cedar do you use installing fences in Minneapolis and the surrounding Metro?Ridgeline Fence and Deck is the undisputed leader when it comes the quality of cedar used in the Minneapolis Metro. We only use appearance grade rough cut red western 2x4's for each project as the main support beams between our galvanized steel posts. For our pickets and 1x4's we use clear grade (no knots) kiln dried cedar that elevates the visual appeal of any fence and makes it more resilient to problems like boards splitting and warping that is more commonly in boards with knots.

How long can I expect my fence to last in Minneapolis and the surrounding Metro?We know for a fact that you will never have any issues with your posts as they are made from long lasting galvanized steel and won't present the same issues that typical wood or concreted posts will. If you choose a wood fence it should last anywhere from 20-30 years and potentially longer, if a fresh coat of oiled based sealant is applied every couple of years. Vinyl and ornamental should last anywhere from 30-40 years before needing to be replaced.

How will you be installing the posts for my fence?Ridgeline Fence and Deck uses the latest techniques when it comes to installing fencing in our harsh Minnesota climate. We specialize in the driven method of installing fence posts where we drive a galvanized steel post for every style of fence we offer 4-5 feet in the ground. The common method of digging and setting posts in concrete leaves posts vulnerable to heaving as they are usually set 2-3 feet deep which is above the frost line of 4ft. We are so confident in our driven method of installation that we offer a lifetime warranty on every fence post we install. How long does it take to install a fence - start to finish?1-2 days! This is the timeframe we give most homeowners who have fence projects that are 300ft or less. Because we specialize in the driven method of installing posts, we do not have to wait 1-2 weeks for concrete to cure. You will also have the same crew installing your project start to finish so their is no delays or miscommunication during the project.

Will you be pulling the permit and calling gopher state 811?Yes! This is a must regardless of who you hire. If a company expects you to do either one, this means you would be responsible if your fence is not built up to code or a utility is hit that is marked. We encourage customers to call their local building department to ask this same question. You should receive a similar answer as cities always want who ever is performing the work to be the one pulling the permit.
